College freshman Takakage is experiencing a series of recurrent dreams in which he appears in the guise of an ancient samurai named Genshiro, whose primary occupation other than warfare seems to be ravishing his demure lover Ayame. A fortune teller informs the sceptical youngster that he will soon encounter and fall in love with this young woman from a past incarnation. In between waiting for this meeting to occur, randy Takakage busies himself fucking everything in sight, much to the chagrin of his jealous sister Meiko. Then the modern-day Ayame shows up and he fucks her too. Repeatedly. In a shrine, no less. Then Meiko informs him that due to some sort of time paradox she is also the reincarnation of Ayame. As may be expected, Takakage proceeds to reward this information the only way he knows how - with a series of vigorous couplings. There's also a fair bit of talk about the immortality of love, and occasional complications resulting from Takakage's insistence on singlehandedly ploughing his way through the entire female populace of his year level.

Campus is one of the strongest efforts released thus far in the Siren Visual series. It's fun, silly, melodramatic and oddly compelling. The sex is hardcore too, not the usual dainty pruned nonsense the censors kindly allow to trickle to the masses. The storyline itself is straightforward, but provides an effective counter to the libidinous shenanigans. The animation is above average and is decidedly rich and painterly in places, especially late in the piece when there are some really quite lovely visuals. The character designs are also more inventive than on other of Siren's hentai releases, and even though the female characters have the tiniest noses and mouths I've ever seen depicted in anime of any genre they still manage to fellate their menfolk with gusto.

Pleasingly for admirers of this sort of filth, Campus seems to have escaped the ire of the censors in Oz despite featuring a obscenity-laden screenplay, realistically depicted male genitalia and numerous shots of vaginal penetration. The cover art is also appropriately lurid, showing young Ayame on her knees and covered in ejaculate, which is how she spends a goodly portion of the film. It must further be said that in addition to some nice artwork the folks at Siren certainly haven't fucked about in regards to sexual sound effects this time around. Genshiro laps at Ayame's tits and pussy with the plangent eagerness of a hungry kitten attacking a pitcher of warm milk, and the boisterous lovemaking scattered throughout the two thirty-minute episodes is accompanied by persistent and frankly rather graphic squelching sounds. That's really the only way to describe it: squelch, squelch, squelch, squelch. Certainly nothing left to the imagination in this or any other regard, which is exactly the way these things should be.
Presented in 4:3 aspect ratio, this is one of the best-looking of the Siren animated releases. Characters, backgrounds, appendages and countless messy ejaculations are rendered with impressive attention to detail. The noses bother me, and are the only real deficiency in the animation- either sharp and lazily triangular or so small as to be nearly invisible. Almost distracts from the copious shagging. Almost.
The moaning, groaning, sucking, fucking, analingus, cunnilingus, fellatio, teabagging, tweaking, licking, thrusting, grunting and gyrating all sound fine in 2.0. Both English and Japanese audio and subs are available, though as ever the Japanese vocal dub is superior. The English voice actors (unanimously credited under pseudonyms) do a decent job but are consistently outclassed by their Oriental counterparts, who seem to take this sort of thing much more seriously and give some admirably impassioned performances. The original music is pretty decent too.

Overall Score
A satisfyingly smutty affair and really quite an accomplished effort by hentai standards, Campus also serves to illustrate the arbitrary nature of censorship in this country. The sex scenes are graphic, depictions of penetration abound and elephantine cum shots are taken in a variety of orifices or applied directly to the faces of panting young maidens. Will appeal to those who like to entertain the notion they will one day meet a college-aged nymphomaniac with cantaloupe tits and the waistline of a twelve-year-old.
