Those bloody poms. First they take the Ashes from us, and now they'll also be able to brag about hosting the premiere of a highly anticipated Australian slasher flick!
Manchester's Grimm Up North! horror festival recently unveiled part of its 2009 programme, and one of the major highlights is the world premiere of Schooner of Blood, which will be playing at the Odeon Printworks on November 1 with writer/director Kate Glover in attendance. The fest runs from October 30 to November 1 and will be screening over 30 features and shorts in total. Visit the official site for more infomation.
In other Schooner of Blood news the movie is set to be re-titled in many overseas markets. Australian and New Zealand audiences will still get to see it as "Schooner of Blood" but for international audiences that are more inclined to think a schooner is a large sailing vessel rather than a glass of amber fluid served at the local PUB the movie will be released as "Slaughtered", which doesn't sound quite as exciting.
A date for Schooner of Blood's Australian premiere is yet to be announced.
