The programme for the 2008 Gold Coast Film Fantastic has been released, and while this is one of the smaller films festivals in Australia the schedule always features several, errrr, fantastic flicks, and once again this year’s line up looks like it’s going for quality over quantity.
Among the highlights will be locally produced efforts such as the sci-fi/creature/action flick The Dark Lurking (which we first got excited about here) and Vigilante, while international offerings will include David Koepp’s Ghost Town (screening several months ahead of its December 26 national release date), Takashi Miike’s Sukiyaki Western Django and the French short film collection Fear(s) of the Dark.
As well as screenings the fest will also feature free workshops focusing on drama, film and efffects makeup, script writing, and more.
The 2008 Gold Coast Film Fantastic runs from October 16 – 19. For more information visit the official site - www.filmfantastic.com
