The 11th Spanish Film Festival kicks off next month, and genre fans are in for a treat as the fest will be featuring two highly anticipated Spanish horror flicks - Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza’s [Rec] (which, if this YouTube clip is anything to go by has given audiences a severe case of the heebie jeebies!) and the Australian premiere of The Orphanage, an "elegant, shivery ghost story" which was the highest grossing movie at the Spanish box office last year and was produced by Guillermo del Toro.

The festival, which will be showcasing a total of 29 Spanish features, 3 documentaries, and two programme's of short films, will be touring Australia throughout May, starting in Sydney on May 7, then moving through Canberra, Melbourne, and Brisbane before finishing in Perth on May 28.

Visit the Spanish Film Festival website for full screening details.
