The White House is Under Siege in Olympus Has Fallen
By: Craig Villinger on July 25, 2013 | Comments

See what we did there? While most have gone for the more obvious Die Hard comparison we'll be referring to Olympus Has Fallen as "Under Siege in the White House" ahead of Roadshow's DVD and Blu-ray release, mainly because the trailer features a scene where Gerard Butler's history is revealed to a bunch of people sitting around a large table via the famed "Just how badass is this guy?" speech.

When the White House is taken over by a bunch of gun toting terrorists and the President is kidnapped, disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) finds himself trapped inside the famed building. With the nations armed forces powerless to react, Banning becomes America's only hope of freeing the president, retaking the white house, and perhaps preventing a far more significant catastrophe that could have global repercussions. Along with Gerard Butler the movie also features Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Dylan McDermott, Rick Yune, and Radha Mitchell.

Perhaps the most spectacularly violent action movie of 2013 so far, Olympus Has Fallen will be available to rent and own on DVD & Blu-ray as well as Digital Download from August 21. Blu-ray buyers can look forward to a collection of extras that mirror overseas releases including Creating the Action, Deconstructing the Black Hawk, Epic Ensemble, Bloopers, Ground Combat and Under Surveillance: The Making of Olympus Has Fallen. DVD buyers will have to settle for Under Surveillance: The Making of Olympus Has Fallen and Bloopers.

Below you'll find the trailer, along with DVD and Blu-ray cover art (which should really say "Under Siege in the White House", but we won't make a big deal of it).
