The Monsterama Collection Goes HD with Amphibious
By: Craig Villinger on September 14, 2013 | Comments

Since it was launched back in April we've had what you might call an "unusual fascination" with Eagle's Monsterama Collection. With its assortment of dinosaurs, fire breathing insects, fish/reptile hybrids, and other freaks of nature, the Monsterama Collection has been feeding us a dose of creature carnage each and every month, but up until this point the releases have all been limited to the DVD format. That will all change on October 23 however when the Monsterama Collection leaps onto Blu-ray with the release of Brian Yuzna's Amphibious, the first Monsterama title to be available in both HD and 3D!

Marine biologist, Skylar Shane, hires an expat charter boat captain, Jack Bowman, to help her find prehistoric life form samples in the north Sumatran Sea. During the expedition, they run into some of Jack's 'friends', a gang of smugglers headquartered on a fishing platform in the middle of the sea. Tamal, an orphan sold into servitude by his dark shaman uncle, begs Skylar to take him away. She empathizes with the boy not knowing what lurks beneath the dark inky water, waiting to surface. Ever since Tamal arrived, mysterious things begin to happen and Skylar and Jack must battle the terror once locked deep in the abyss by an old civilization.

No word on extras, however Eagle's Blu-ray will include both 2D & 3D viewing options. DVD buyers will have to settle for the standard 2D version.
