MIFF Program Gets Bloody

MIFFWhile last year's Ozploitation filled festivities will be a hard act to top the full program for the 2009 Melbourne International Film Festival still has a lot of bloody offerings for the horror and exploitation minded fan.

Most of the highlights can be found in the "Night Shift" program, which features a solid section of genre offerings including blaxploitation homage Black Dynamite, The Burrowers, the Norwegian zombie comedy Dead Snow, Eden Log, Coffin Joe's Embodiment of Evil, Martyrs, Mum & Dad, and Sauna.

Also screening as part of MIFF 2009 are Lars von Trier's Antichrist, Park Chan-wook's vampire melodrama Thirst, and the UK backwoods thriller Eden Lake. Quentin Tarantino will also attending the festival to introduce the Australian premiere of his latest flick Inglourious Basterds.

MIFF 09 has a lot more to offer (though some of it is arty crap that may not be of much interest to your average boob and blood loving DR reader) so head over to the MIFF website to view the complete program.
